This is the darkest story I’ve ever written, and every word poured onto the page came with a cathartic release. Writing and reading are definitely ways to explore thoughts, emotions, and everything in between. All the same, I usually shy away from anything too explicit. This story haunted me for years, always a fleeting image here or there in the back of my head, but I always told myself it was too disturbing to write.
Finally, I gave into a scene just to get it out of my head, then another, and before I knew it I had several chapters written, a functional outline, and a desperate clawing need to tell Roman’s story. This isn’t a story for everyone and that’s okay. This was a story I needed to write and one I hope to share with interested readers. It’s disturbing and dark. It’s unapologetic. It’s raw and vulnerable at times while being surreal and uncomfortably erotic in other areas.
